Emilio Hernandez, Intern Architect

Emilio Hernandez

Emilio and his family moved to Albuquerque, where he began working for Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C., in July 2007. He was born and raised in Mexicali, Baja California.

After earning his Bachelor of Arts in Architecture in 1997 from Universidad Autonoma de Baja California, he worked as a CAD drafter and gained enough experience to become a project coordinator for a prestigious structural engineering firm.

Emilio has experience in a broad spectrum of architectural and engineering concepts, practices and procedures. He has planned and supervised all architectural aspects of project construction.

Recent projects include:
· Tohatchi Elementary School
· Wide Ruins Community School & Staff Quarters Design
· Peridot Travel Center
· Twin Buttes High School
· Montbel Office Building Renovation
· Bernalillo Library Addition and Renovation
· Santo Domingo Head Start

In My Own Words...
When I was in elementary school, I started out by "doodling" comics, science fiction drawings  and some imaginary buildings. This is when I decided to become an Architect.

When I began my professional career, I realized that structural engineering is the base or skeleton of any architectural design.

I am happy to be part of the Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. team. This office has exceeded my expectations, in terms of the knowledge and experience of its employees, who learn and work together on Native American projects.

I am inspired by architects such as Renzo Piano, Santiago Calatrava and Ricardo Legorreta.
