The $4,200,000 Mariano Lake Elementary School project is a BIA (Bureau of Indian Affairs) school project contracted under the Navajo Nation Design & Engineering Services Department, and administered under Grant status by the Mariano Lake Community School Board.
The scope of work included the correction of deficiencies related to life safety, code, material failure and/or surpassed performance time, and a new 4,178 square foot library and 8,866 square foot gymnasium.
Dyron Murphy Architects, PC worked with the school committee to develop a series of schematic designs and programmatic schedules that addressed the needs of the school, while significantly reducing the overly ambitious original program of requirements. Dyron Murphy Architects, P.C. conducted several on-site meetings and worked closely with the Mariano Lake Community School Board, Navajo Nation Design & Engineering Services and Albuquerque BIA Office of Facility Management and Construction, in finalizing design decisions for this project.
Construction was completed in early 2009.
